Sony Manufacturing Plant Demolition
Client: Rudolph and Sletten

Sony’s Trinitron production complex in Rancho Bernardo, encompassing nearly 1-million sf of space in four connecting buildings, was to be destroyed—save one building—without impacting Sony’s operations. This was the primary challenge that Casper Company was faced with as they sought to assist its long-term client in achieving Sony’s goal of continuing to house administrative personnel in Building 3, as the other three buildings were demolished. Using the most stringent safety measures, crews demolished the three buildings with surgical precision, carefully separated the materials for recycling—which provided a savings to the owner—and provided hazardous-materials abatement services. Casper Company was able to recycle nearly 90 percent of the demolished materials.
