San Dieguito Wetlands Restoration
Client: Marathon Construction

The San Dieguito Wetlands Restoration Project will restore 150 acres of coastal wetlands in the San Dieguito River Valley within the Cities of Del Mar and San Diego. Casper Company worked with Marathon Construction and the site geologist to map out a plan to remove five WWII-era fuel tanks and perform site remediation of contaminated silt as part of a clean-up effort by Southern California Edison. Approximately two-million cubic yards of material will also be excavated by Casper Company to create additional water flow to the lagoon. The project includes a 12-foot-deep, 42-acre fish hatchery, five bird-nesting areas and a half-dozen species of native plants.
